Anyone who’s lived in Marbella for a while (I’m on 15 years now) knows the spring rush. Restaurants, beach clubs, clinics, schools and estate agents all start hiring at once before the season, and everyone’s competing for the same people.
So if you’re hiring in Marbella and want good people, not just any people, here’s how I’d advertise the job.
How do I advertise that I’m hiring?
The best way to advertise that you’re hiring in Marbella is to post the job on your own social media and website, share it in the right local Facebook groups, list it on job sites like LinkedIn, Indeed or InfoJobs, and use paid social ads if you need to reach more people quickly. Make it clear, specific and appealing, like you would any other advert.
The biggest mistake is treating a job post like a boring notice. It’s marketing. You’re selling your business to someone who has other options.
Why is hiring in Marbella so competitive?
Hiring in Marbella is competitive because most hospitality, tourism and service businesses need extra staff at the same time, in the months before summer. Good, experienced, multilingual staff get snapped up fast.
So start early. If you need people for June, start advertising in March or April. By May, the best candidates have usually already said yes to someone else.
Where should I post jobs in Marbella?
Post jobs where your ideal candidates already spend time: your own Instagram and Facebook, local expat and jobs groups on Facebook, LinkedIn for professional roles, and job boards like InfoJobs and Indeed for Spanish-speaking candidates.
Some quick rules of thumb:
- Hospitality and seasonal roles: Instagram, Facebook groups and word of mouth work brilliantly.
- Professional roles (marketing, admin, sales): LinkedIn and Indeed.
- Spanish-speaking roles: InfoJobs is widely used across Spain.
- Specialist roles (dental nurses, teachers): niche job boards and professional networks.
Can I use Facebook and Instagram ads to recruit staff?
Yes. Meta Ads can be a brilliant way to reach people in Marbella, Estepona or San Pedro who aren’t actively job hunting but would be interested in the right role. Note that Meta treats job ads as a special category, so some targeting options (like age and gender) are limited.
Keep the ad simple: what the job is, where it is, the hours, why it’s a great place to work, and how to apply. A short video of your team at work usually beats a stock photo.
What should I include in a job advert?
A good job advert includes the job title, location, hours, salary or salary range, the languages needed, what the job involves, what makes your business a good place to work, and exactly how to apply. Being clear saves you hours of messages.
Salary is the one people leave out, and it’s a mistake. Including it gets you more applications from people who are actually a good fit.
How do I make my business look like a good place to work?
Show the people, not just the product. Post behind-the-scenes content of your team, share staff milestones, and let current staff talk about what they like. Candidates check your Instagram and Google reviews before applying, just like customers do.
Should I advertise jobs in English or Spanish?
It depends on the role. If the job needs English with international customers, advertise in English (and say which other languages are a bonus). For roles where Spanish is essential, post in Spanish. Many Marbella businesses post both versions.

Frequently asked questions
When should I start hiring for the summer season in Marbella?
Start advertising in March or April for roles starting in May or June. The best seasonal staff are often booked by May.
What’s the best free way to advertise a job in Marbella?
Your own social media plus a few relevant local Facebook groups. Ask your team to share it too, as personal recommendations work well here.
Can I target job ads to people in Marbella only?
Yes, you can target by location on Meta and Google Ads. Meta’s employment ad rules limit some targeting, but location targeting still works.
Should I include the salary in my job advert?
Yes, where you can. Ads with a salary or salary range usually get more relevant applications and fewer wasted conversations.
